Ahoy Batam ! Needless to say , we’re on a ferry out and away to Batam – just 35 minutes away from Singapore . This time round , we are pleased to have onboard the official restaurants – NEWTOWN restaurant and Grand Duck restaurant located on the island , Batam who had generously sponsored our ferry , food ( duh ! ) and the boss of the 2 restaurants ( Mr Loo ) for spending his time out to drive us around for a 2 days 1 night food trip !
Armed with our boarding pass that looks like any boarding pass for your plane ( only that it is in hard card format ) , we’re finally all set to get onto the ferry and off we set off to Batam !!!!!!!!!!!
Getting to Batam is so much more convenient and faster than what i thought with frequent hourly ferry shuttle services from Singapore and Batam – Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal . Wavemaster is a full fleet ferry that operates to and fro from Harbour Bay Batam – a 1 floor ferry so forget about admiring the scenery from the top .
Pretty comfy with the seats ( so much better than budget airlines ) but not recline-able , it boasts an airline configuration of 3 by 3 by 3 and 4 toilets at the back ( but quite budget kind ) .
Did i mention it’s my 1st ferry out to the sea despite being a travel blogger ? A 35 mins ferry ride is beautiful and speedy with WaveMaster at only SGD 48 all inclusive for a return trip . Shuttle services are also provided free of charge to Kepri Mall – where GRAND DUCK Restaurant is located at so you can hop onto one to have lunch when you reach Batam ! Convenient isn’t it ? 🙂
Booking to Batam Indonesia is easy with purchasing your tickets at Harbourfront Centre , pass through the immigration and off you hop onto the ferry ! We heard that WaveMaster is the only ferry that operates at the terminal so remember to purchase the right tickets for the right port !
