Flaunting its luxury and location so central, it has that humble beginning – the first certified 5 star hotel in Indonesia. Linked to Grand Indonesia shopping mall, you can easily grab snacks or embark on a shopping spree before bed time.
Business Travelers – space and comfort are all we need, and this hotel has done so delightfully well.
Slip into your cosy set of bathrobe and get ready to feel at home. Signs of aged? Not at all. Upscaled and contemporary, the rooms are satisfying spacious and the Monumen Bundaran HI round-about warrants the promise of ‘everything in the middle of Jakarta’.
The Grand Deluxe room created an ample lounge area – a cosy seating ‘living room’ that is undivided from the beds. There’s also a walk-in wardrobe right at the entrance and a working desk for all your entertainment, work and relaxation needs.
Part of the 64sq metres is the bathroom. Separated from the beds by a sliding door, it’s another oasis of itself. The beds are plush and pleasant-looking, with an evening turn-down service available.
Unwind the day of meetings with a hot soak. Catch up with daily news on the range of international news channels or your favourite shows, all in the comfort of your deeply luxurious oversized tub. You deserve it.
Go on – the bed’s calling. Laze and embrace the warmth of king-sized beds at Kempinski Jakarta. If the pillows are not sufficient to satisfy, you can always opt for other choices (even hypoallergy) or even bolsters to make the sleep even more comfortable.
Having some spare time? Head up to the rooftop pool and leap into the family-sized pools. Tanning decks are also available if you’re considering to brush a new tan. Not in the mood for a swim? The jacuzzi might be able to make up, with a cocktail/mocktail on accompany.
If you just feel like being pampered, check into the Kempinski The Spa. Elevate your spirits and mood, rejuvenate and refresh with the signature spa treatments. During our stay here, the seasonal spa treatments are recommended, and we had the opportunity to be blissed with the ‘Autumn Sleep’ and ‘Summer Bliss’. Oh boy, it’s so good.
The Autumn sleep package rewards you with a head massage at the end. Aimed at compensating the sleep lack, the treatment was extremely light and relaxing that it takes no effort to fall into sleep.
Summer Bliss was rather new – a cold stones treatment that scrubs against the skin with aloe vera and cucumber. Strong soothing strokes were also introduced and applied throughout, while being boosted by the effect of the cold stones. Prices are generously affordable for 90mins massages.
Relax at the communal relaxation room, and be summoned back to reality. A pre-departure spa is necessary to stay eased and balanced before home.
Check out the fine dining japanese restaurant, OKU. We sampled a range of the signature cuisines which includes grade A5 wagyu (the highest by industry standards) and long-lined appetisers that arrives in small servings, yet tasteful and surprising.
Unleashing the inner essence – smoke greeted us when the lid is lifted, and then an half-sliced egg appears into sight. It’s not just an ordinary organic egg but chunks of beef floated above the yolk. Presentation? Taste? All checked. It practically melts on every chew and done well as the first appetiser.
Notice how every dish scores an A+ for effort. The zen ambience did upgrade the experience for its authentic Japanese culture and heritage. OKU which means peeled layers of onion reveals stories and chapters of untold stories that are now brought alive by the dishes.
One of the memorable dishes we had and coincidentally, also an highlight offered by the restaurant is this chicken katsu platter. It doesn’t look appetising at first sight but the first bite did appall us with the juicy filling. Caramelized sweet soy sauce bursted and washed the mouth before you sink your teeth into the soft chunks.
Sashimi Platter with gracilaria seaweed and sea grapes was refreshing, especially with the crunch of succulent strings of sea grapes. Before you forget, remember to try the high-grade wagyu beef in medium charcoal grilled or while waiting, watch the action through the open-concept kitchen.
Complete your stay with a delightful breakfast at the Signatures restaurant. With a spread of local to international cuisine, dedicated bakery corner and even a free-to-help honeycomb buffet, you will sample great fresh gourmet brunch. Wake up even if you’re a late riser, it’s worth every wink that you sacrificed.
